George Washington Carver National Monument - Carver Discovery Center

National Park Service
Diamond, Missouri - February 2006

The George Washington Carver National Monument was created in July 1943 to memorialize the life and accomplishments of George Washington Carver. Located on 210 acres of the original 240-acre Moses Carver homestead in Newton County, Missouri, the Monument preserves his birthplace. In addition to honoring Dr. Carver's rise from slavery as a pioneer in facilitating interracial harmony, it also expands to celebrate his life story as botanist, educator, humanitarian, artist, musician, and a world-renowned agricultural research scientist. To further compliment his life long service to others, the exhibit honors Dr. Carver's dedication to mentoring youth and in building strong moral character.

Color-Ad is proud to team with the National Park Service and Exhibit A Design Group as a collaborative effort to create the Carver Discovery Center where visitors will interact with various interpretive and educational medias in a combined total of approximately 3,800 square feet of exhibit space. The key purpose of the Visitor Center is to add a self-guided inquiry centered hands-on learning experience for visitors and students alike.

This massive exhibit shall include a range of interpretive media, hands-on educational exhibits, and teaching aids utilizing complex audio, video, and electronic interactive components as part of the design.
